Volunteer Spotlight – Meet Ciara and Luke

Ciara, Luke and Jen (Lead Destination Discovery)

Two of our volunteers for Destination Discovery attend the Marquette University School of Dentistry and we are so thankful to have them leading this fun activity-filled group! Learn more about them below.

Volunteering at GiGi’s Playhouse Milwaukee is “an awesome break from school. I like to promote peer play and development for children with Down Syndrome while having so much fun!” says Ciara.

Ciara adds that she likes the excitement of the participants as they do the activities noting that it “is so rewarding, as well as the feeling of making a positive impact on my community!”

Luke comments that he “wanted to volunteer with GiGi’s because (he) enjoyed working with patients with Down syndrome in the clinic, and thought that the activities they were getting involved in sounded fun. My favorite part of volunteering is all of the friends I have made at GiGi’s, and the new jokes I learn!” Luke also led Team in the fall of 2019-early 2020.
