Juliette shows her Best of All!
We love hearing about how our programs impact our participants and their families. Juliette’s mom, Cathy, shared “Fantastic Friends is the BEST thing that happened during the pandemic.” Juliette has been attending each virtual session, nearly 32 hours! This has helped her to make some great friendships that have since transferred to in-person meetings.
For every Fantastic Friends program, Juliette is excited to see everyone and enthusiastically greets her friends and program leaders. Last month Juliette played Trivia and Bingo with the group. She demonstrated her Best of All by participating in the games with friends, encouraging others, and sharing about what is new in her life. One of the evenings fell on National Pizza Party Day so the group shared their favorite pizza toppings (Juliette likes thin crust with pepperoni) and fun facts about each other. Juliette is a dancer, and she is looking forward to her upcoming recital. We can’t wait to hear about how it went!
Program Description: Our Fantastic Friends program supports the development of social skills and language through peer-to-peer interaction in a casual fun setting. Along with their peers without Down syndrome, adult participants participate in the planning of activities so that group activities are based on personal interests. During Fantastic Friends, the group may participate in active games, dancing or exploring their local community by participating in outings and events.
RSVP for the next program on our calendar, join us in-person or virtually! All adults with disabilities and peers are welcome to join https://gigisplayhouse.org/milwaukee/calendar/
