Best of All Literacy Moment!!

At age 39, CJ was attending his first semester of literacy tutoring at GiGi’s Playhouse. His dad had taught him the alphabet long ago but apparently that was the extend of his literacy training. He was thought to be a non-reader!! The first three tutoring sessions were slow-going, only mastering three food words: pizza, hamburger, and cookies. However, there must have been some magic in those word cards that fourth tutoring session; he was able to read eight out of the 9 practiced words without any prompts or other assistance. Both CJ and his guardian beamed with delight when the outcome was shared with his guardian after the session.

Congratulations!!

We are so proud of Chris and cannot believe what he has learned through the literacy program at GiGi’s. We did not think he could read. He is so excited to learn. Thank you!
