Volunteer Spotlight!

Back in March, Cindy Laine volunteered for the first time at GiGi’s Playhouse. It was World Down Syndrome Day. she was introduced to GiGi’s through her employer Vistex and their Endeavor Volunteer Program. Working that event has led to an amazing relationship between Cindy and GiGi’s as she has gone on to become one of our most consistent and strongest volunteers. Every event since then, Cindy has been there. From the Easter Party, to the 5K, to GiGi’s birthday, to the Anvil Club fundraiser, to New Family Orientation, to representing GiGI’s at the BMW Championship, we can always count on Cindy to help us out. Not only does she volunteer at events, but she volunteers every Saturday in the playhouse at the front desk greeting participants and answering the phone. One weekend this summer, Cindy volunteered at New Family Orientation on Friday night, volunteered all day on Saturday at the front desk in the playhouse and then ventured to Medinah Country Club to work a full Sunday at the GiGi’s Playhouse drink tent to raise money for GiGi’s at the BMW Championship. Her commitment level has no boundaries! She has volunteer over 160 hours over the last six months!

Cindy said that her favorite thing about GiGi’s Playhouse is the genuine passion and enthusiasm shown by everyone involved. She loves the contagious energy, sense of fun and compassion she experiences at GiGi’s. She says that her heart and soul has been expanded since volunteering at GiGi’s and that the personal fulfillment she has gained through volunteering has been priceless.

Cindy, I haven’t seen you in twelve years. This is Kevin. Don’t know if you remember me. You look truly happy, motivated, and full of energy. Very happy for you that you seem to have found peace and are, as I see, doing well.
