Together we will reach the top!

Eddie and Caiden are perfect examples of living out GiGi’s Playhouse Core Values. Enthusiastic. Best of All. Get It Done. Believe.

In Middle and High School Eddie was in special education classes himself. As a student, Eddie often felt limited and never felt challenged. He pushed himself and set high expectations for himself. Now a second year student at Harper College, Eddie has set a goal to become a Special Education Teacher. He wanted to make a difference in the lives of others and not feel limited in anything they do.

Eddie decided while attending college he would start his goal by  volunteering at GiGi’s Playhouse. He lives forty minutes from GiGi’s Playhouse but does not mind the drive. He is doing something he loves, volunteering as a math tutor at GiGi’s Playhouse with participant Caiden. Caiden has been attending GiGi’s Playhouse FREE PROGRAMS such as GiGiFIT Kids, Speech, Destination Discovery, and  1:1 Math Tutoring and 1:1 Literacy.

When Caiden sees Eddie he is excited to get to work!  Before each session, Eddie starts with asking Caiden about his day. One of Caiden’s favorite math activities is counting. Eddie gives him a choice of legos, cars, or a sensory ball. Caiden always chooses a sensory ball, together they count them by color. “Caiden is determined to succeed in all he does, he reminds me of me when I was that age!  – Eddie Brown
