LMNOP en Español: Building Skills, Language, and Community

At GiGi’s Playhouse, we know that every family is unique—and every child learns best when they feel supported, celebrated, and included. That’s why we are proud to offer LMNOP (Language, Music, N’ Our Peeps) in Spanish, a program that brings babies and toddlers with Down syndrome and their families together through music, movement, and community.

What is LMNOP?

Designed for children from birth to five, LMNOP uses songs, stories, movement, and sign language to help little ones build the foundation for communication and social skills. Families join in the fun, learning strategies they can use at home to support their child’s growth.

  • Language & Communication: practicing words, colors, and signs
  • Motor Skills: clapping, instrument play, and movement activities
  • Social Interaction: greetings, turn-taking, and routines
  • Family Bonding: learning and playing together in a joyful setting

Why Spanish?

Offering LMNOP in Spanish allows families to fully participate in a language that feels natural at home. For some, it means reinforcing their child’s learning in their native language. For others, it’s a chance to experience a new culture and grow together. Most importantly, it shows that every family belongs—no matter what language they speak.

What Families Are Saying

“We have loved coming to the Spanish class, even though we don’t speak Spanish! 😂 You are extremely prepared, and because of that we have been able to follow along and now know our colors in Spanish—and Blake starts to mouth a few of the words!!”

“The couple times we went both Riley and I loved it. I do think it’s important that the world sees each person with Down syndrome and their families are different. That there is not a one size fits all. I really like that the same songs were used so even though I do not know Spanish, Riley and I could participate. I hope the program continues.”

“When Spanish LMNOP started we were so happy 😊 because we speak more Spanish at home with Yaneli—but to be honest, I don’t know many songs in Spanish. I love that I can learn myself and sing them to her. Thank you for starting LMNOP in Spanish—we hope to be able to go to them all, and even if I can’t, my husband will be going on Saturdays. ❤️”

“LMNOP Español has been fun to attend! Nidia does a great job translating and leading the class! Not only is Anthony learning more Spanish, but I myself learn something new too! I like connecting with other families like ours, but it’s also really cool to see other non-Spanish speaking families attend and participate as well!”

“Ami y a mi familia nos encanta  LMNOP En Español. Ya que lo disfrutamos al máximo porque es en nuestro idioma. Nos a ayudado mucho como familia. Para socializar y conocer muchas más familias con las que podemos compartir grandes momentos. A mi hija jazlyn le a servido mucho aprendiendo señas siendo más vucal y también socializando. Sin duda es un programa que agradecemos que nos puedan brindar gracias.”

Building Community

Beyond the songs and activities, LMNOP in Spanish creates a place where families can connect, share experiences, and celebrate every milestone—big or small. Whether a child claps along to the rhythm, signs a new word, or sings their first song, every achievement is recognized and celebrated together.
