At GiGi’s Playhouse, Best of All moments are the little victories that show big growth—and for math tutor Karen and participant Robbie, those moments have been adding up since 2017.

Karen began tutoring Robbie with a simple, practical goal: make math meaningful. They focused on currency—counting bills and coins, understanding value, and building confidence with real-world transactions. One of their favorite ways to practice? Lunch dates. Together, Karen and Robbie figure out the tip, calculate tax, and determine how much change they should receive. These outings are full of laughter, teamwork, and real-life problem solving. Robbie asks questions, double-checks his work, and celebrates when the numbers make sense. Those are Best of All moments—when learning clicks and confidence shines. Each successful exchange wasn’t just about dollars and cents—it was about independence, confidence, and pride.

As their sessions evolved, so did the ways math showed up. Karen and Robbie discovered that math truly is everywhere.
