These Volunteers Saved the Gala Day!

This past weekend, GiGi’s Playhouse had our 14th annual Chicagoland Gala! It was a beautiful and exciting evening with some legendary fundraising, and there were SO many people that helped make it happen. For our March volunteer spotlight, we wanted to highlight a few volunteers behind the scenes that really made the event run smoothly.

Keith Sesko and his son Josh Sesko so kindly brought their moving truck to transport all our silent auction items and everything else needed for Gala. We were able to make only ONE trip, cutting hours of valuable time. Keith then organized everything at the hotel with unloading and setting up. He has generously committed to helping with all our big events in the future!

Lions President Mike Rapp and fellow Schaumburg-Hoffman Lions generously donated their time and their muscles to load up the truck full of auction baskets and all the supplies needed for the Gala to transport to the venue!

Kim Galvan helped coordinate so many background things and she said helping with the Gala means so much to her and she will always be there from the beginning to the end of the event, which means so much  as she’s been here for us since day 1!

Working to set up all the silent auction items is no easy feat, and without the coordination of Jamie Rios and Debbie Dudek, it may not have gotten done and been set up so well! Beth McCabe also did so much outreach for auction items, as well as coordinating our volunteers on the day of the event. We’ve never seen it go so smoothly, and we are so thankful!

During the Gala, we had GiGi U interns Dea, Lauren, and Megan help out with the receiving line and they didn’t miss a beat!

We are always extremely grateful for our volunteers who stick with us to get things done when things get a little crazy! Stay tuned to our Facebook and website for photos of the Gala and other upcoming events and check out our calendar 🙂 If you’re interested in being a part of our AWESOME event and program volunteer team, fill out our online application!
