Actor with Down syndrome encourages teens to reach for their dreams

Peter ten Brink is an emerging actor in the film industry who has worked alongside the likes of John Corbett (Sex and the City and My Big Fat Greek Wedding).  He also happens to have Down syndrome.  Peter, along with his long-time acting coach, Sarah Rose Graber,  joined our Teen Tastic group to share their experiences and to answer questions about acting, theatre and ways to pursue a career in acting or theatre.   They also shared a screening of the movie “A Smile as big as the Moon” in which Peter starred.  Based on the true story of children with special needs who overcame many obstacles to attend the prestigious space camp, usually reserved for gifted students, the film is a powerful message that reinforces that people with Down syndrome are not defined by their diagnosis.
