Confessions of a GiGi’s DJ, Part 2
Sequels are often a letdown, but there are some exceptions.
Fans of The Godfather and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man waited two years for their critically acclaimed sequels, and Toy Story fans waited four years for theirs. Fortunately, the wait for part two of our June 20 blog was only one week. We wish you could have been present to witness this true story, because it was beautiful. Here’s the play-by-play:
After round one of Tuesday’s edition of Music Makers, there were only 15 minutes left in the program. Instead of allowing a few of 18 participants to sing another song, I decided to choose one song and invite everyone to join me on stage to sing. But what song to choose?
I looked around the room and noticed that Eric was wearing a Michael Jackson outfit (as seen in this photo) and decided to pick MJ’s “Man in the Mirror”. It was the right choice. By the end of the song, everyone was on their feet, dancing and singing the chorus in unison:
I’m starting with the man in the mirror
I’m asking him to change his ways…
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make a change!
As the song ended, I reminded everyone that WE ALL are that “Man in the Mirror”. WE have the responsibility to make a change in the world. And GiGi’s Playhouse is a big part of that.
