Annali Takes School Bus 12 to GiGi’s Playhouse!

The School Bus 12 Facebook page cover photo features a quote that says, “Empowering Artists with Disabilities, One Shirt at a Time”. We contend that they do much more than that. They also spread awareness and provide financial support for organizations like ours!

I first learned about this unique Centerville apparel company when I took a call from Tasha Campbell in February. Tasha, whose family lives in the Centerville area, wanted me to know that School Bus 12 was going to be selling a Down syndrome-themed T-shirt for the month of March for World Down Syndrome Day in honor of her two-year-old daughter Annali, who has Down syndrome. Tasha and her children came up with the “Crazy Socks, Crazy Love” design that they illustrated together, and it was Tasha’s idea to have the proceeds donated to GiGi’s Playhouse.
As soon as I got off the phone with Tasha, I went to the School Bus 12 Facebook page to see a photo of adorable Annali and the design that they came up with. And I wasted no time in ordering a shirt of my own. I love it!

Earlier this month, Tasha was in town for a baseball tournament that her son was playing in (his USSSA 11 and under team made it to the state championship game!) and she stopped by with Annali (who turned three in June). It was Annali’s first visit to GiGi’s Playhouse, and she had so much fun exploring and enjoying all the kid-friendly play areas that we have. And Tasha brought with her two checks to donate to GiGi’s: a check from School Bus 12 for $148 that represented the proceeds from the “Crazy Socks, Crazy Love” T-shirt sale, and a personal check from Tasha for $148 to match the School Bus 12 proceeds. How generous of both of them!

School Bus 12, which was started by Christi Clark, is an amazing company that was created to support artists with disabilities or the organizations that give them help, hope, resources and support services. A visit to their Facebook page will show you how School Bus 12 has supported a school’s special education department, a local pet rescue organization, and many other organizations. On behalf of GiGi’s Playhouse and all the great causes that you support, we say, “Thank you, School Bus 12!”

In this photo, you see Tasha and Annali presenting the checks to GiGi’s Playhouse Superstar Volunteer Beth Tremaine.
