Thanks to everyone who came out to our second annual trick-or-treating event. It was a great time, and we even had two new families join us at the Playhouse for the festivities. We had a great time, ate too much candy (but gave out even more), and celebrated in the ways that only GiGi’s can.
Also, thanks to everyone who filled out the Open Play surveys we’ve ambushed you with at the Playhouse. Having looked through the handful of surveys we’ve received, we’ve come to two preliminary conclusions: 1. the current mid-week Open Play time is not optimal and 2. there’s a need for some regular Spanish-language times.
With those things in mind, we’ll be making two adjustments to Open Play come December. First, we’ll be moving our regular Wednesday mid-week Open Play to 9:30 a.m. (until 11:30 a.m.). Second, all of our biweekly weekend Open Plays will be Spanish-friendly, meaning either a parent host or volunteer will be fluent in Spanish. We’re confident these adjustments will boost participation for our Open Play programs. If you have any other suggestions, feel free to let us know at chicago@gigisplayhouse.org.
Don’t forget!
Next Wednesday, Michael Diversey’s (670 W. Diversey) is holding a Wine Tasting Benefit for our Teen Drama program. A double sawbuck (that’s $20) gets you access to great-tasting wines (being offered for sale at significant discounts) and appetizers, all for a good cause.
