Sheena Stropki: Mom, Educator, Volunteer & More!

As this month’s volunteer spotlight, we’re thrilled to highlight Sheena Stropki, a dedicated mom, educator, and cherished member of our GiGi’s Playhouse Canton family!

Sheena is the proud mom of Paxton, whose Down syndrome diagnosis first connected their family with GiGi’s when he was just one month old. Today, Sheena is not only an active participant, but she is also a volunteer who pours her heart into giving back. At GiGi’s, Sheena serves on our Programs Committee and is our Math Coordinator, helping support meaningful, engaging opportunities for our participants to grow and shine.

Outside the Playhouse, she serves as an Intervention Specialist at Perry High School. Some of Sheena’s favorite things? BBQ ribs, all things green, the beauty of Fall, crafting, watching sports, and spending time with Paxton. You’ll often find her enjoying a bite to eat at Falcones or making a Target run!

When asked about her favorite Playhouse moments, Sheena shared how much she loves the events that bring everyone together. Sheena fondly speaks about our A Night for GiGi’s Event, and how joyful it was to watch adult participants from programs dance with confidence. She states the outpouring of support within the Down syndrome community inspires her every day.

Sheena, thank you for the joy, compassion, and dedication you bring to GiGi’s. We’re so grateful for you and Paxton, for always bringing extended family to join in on the fun of GiGi’s Playhouse, and we’re honored to have you as part of our Playhouse family!
