Meet Paige: A Dedicated Volunteer and GenG Youth Board Member
At GiGi’s Playhouse Canton, we are privileged to have an incredible team of volunteers who bring enthusiasm, dedication, and compassion to everything they do. Today, we want to shine the spotlight on one remarkable individual who embodies the spirit of service and inclusion: Paige.
Paige is more than just a volunteer at GiGi’s Playhouse Canton; she’s an advocate for individuals with Down syndrome and a beacon of positivity for everyone she meets. With her infectious energy and unwavering commitment, Paige has become an integral part of our community.
“I’m the volunteer lead for GiGi’s Kitchen Teen and serve on the GenG Youth Board! I’ve been at GiGi’s Playhouse Canton for about 3 years, I volunteer with Challenger baseball during the summer. I plan on going into teaching special education. My high school graduation year is 2026!”
Paige’s journey with GiGi’s Playhouse began three years ago when she discovered our organization through her mom’s Facebook post. Since then, she has dedicated herself to making a difference in the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Paige’s passion for special education led her to pursue volunteering opportunities where she could utilize her skills and make meaningful connections.
“One of my favorite activities is reading and painting, I dance in school every day and out of school with a company 3 times a week. During the summer I enjoy sleeping in and riding bikes with friends. My favorite food is any hot chips, my favorite season is summertime, my favorite color is yellow, and I love to shop at Hobby lobby! I love doing crafts and making things, I hope to continue dance after high school!”
Aside from her dedication to volunteering, Paige is a multi-talented individual with a love for reading, painting, and dancing. She brings her creative flair and vibrant energy to everything she does, whether it’s leading a workshop in our kitchen teen program or sharing her love for arts and crafts with our participants.
“I come to many events planned out by GiGi’s Playhouse and I really just like to help wherever is needed! I’m also on the GenG Youth Board.”
In addition to her role as a program volunteer, Paige is also a valued member of our GenG Youth Board. Through her involvement, she contributes fresh ideas, valuable insights, and a youthful perspective that helps us better serve the needs of our community. Paige’s dedication to promoting inclusion and advocacy makes her an invaluable asset to our organization.
“The best part of my experience with GiGi’s Playhouse is building all the friendships and relationships that come with volunteering with GiGi’s and the life skills I’ve gained from just being there!”
Paige’s journey with GiGi’s Playhouse is not just about volunteering; it’s about building meaningful connections and fostering a sense of belonging for everyone involved. Through her dedication and leadership, she exemplifies the values of acceptance, respect, and empowerment that are at the heart of our mission.
As we celebrate Paige’s contributions to GiGi’s Playhouse Canton, we also want to extend an invitation to students who share her passion for making a difference. If you’re a high school student looking for an opportunity to get involved, make an impact, and join a community dedicated to promoting acceptance and inclusion, we encourage you to apply for our GenG Youth Board.
