Volunteer Spotlight: Angel

Name:

Angel Henne

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am stay at home Mom of 2 boys age 18 and 8. I have been married to my husband who is a Police Officer for 22 years. We live in Perry Twp. I homeschool my youngest who has autism, adhd and epilepsy. Most of what I do involves therapy and teaching my youngest son.

We want to get to know you! What are some of your favorites? (food, color, season, activity, restaurant, place to shop, etc.)

My favorite food is Mango, I love the color purple, I enjoy traveling and going to new places. I like to hike and be in the woods. My favorite season is fall.

How did you learn about GiGi’s and what prompted you to become a volunteer?

We learned about Gi Gi’s from my son’s behavioral therapist. I wanted to give back to Gi Gi’s since they have done so much for us even though my son doesn’t have Down syndrome I feel like the center welcomed us with open arms and has provided us with so many great opportunities.

Tell us more about what you do at the Playhouse!

I clean up where needed. I sweep, wipe down tables, and disinfect door knobs and light switches.

What is your favorite experience you have had at the Playhouse?

We really joyed being in the parade recently.

Angel and her family have been a part of our Playhouse family for the past couple years, and we’re so happy to see them each week. When Matthew is participating in programs, Angel takes the initiative to jump in and help however she can. We are actively looking for clean team members to join Angel and our staff members in helping us keep our Playhouse sanitary and organized. If you have a little time to spare during the week and feel this is a good fit for you, please email us at volunteercanton@gigisplayhouse.org!
