I am an intervention specialist from Canton and work at Golden Key School. I have an Axolotl named Axel and two kitties named Jack and Arwen. During my down time, I enjoy listening to audio books.

Some of my favorite things:

  • Sport: Hockey
  • Color: Yellow
  • Season: Fall
  • Vacation Spot: Disney with a buddy!
  • Drink: Coffee
  • Food: tacos!

I learned about GiGi’s through Genny Boja. We work together and she shared what amazing things GiGi’s does for the community. I knew I wanted to be a part of that! Now, I am the Literacy Tutor Coordinator. My favorite experience so far has been assisting at the sensory stop for GiGi’s First Friday Scavenger Hunt!

The next session of literacy tutoring runs September 2nd – December 18th. The One-on-One Literacy tutoring program for individuals with Down syndrome provides instruction based on the interests and inspirations of each student. The Literacy tutoring program supports:

  • sight word recognition
  • vocabulary
  • comprehension
  • articulation
  • self-esteem
  • speech clarity
  • fine motor skills

We are looking for tutors to provide motivating and purposeful lessons designed to keep our students engaged and learning! Enrollment for tutors and students closes August 15th – click here for details or to register.
