Therapeutic Thursdays at GiGi’s Playhouse Atlanta

We had the opportunity to catch up with Cathy Shepherd and Gretchen Lehane, our OT & PT Specialists at GiGi’s Playhouse Atlanta. They bring over 25 years of experience helping children reach their potential. Cathy and Gretchen also run our “Crawlers, Walkers and NOW Talkers” program on Thursdays from 10:30-12 at the Midtown location.

For those of you who have attended the class know how beneficial it is, not just for the kids but for the parents as well. “It truly provides a social arena for families to interact with one another and provide support and encouragement,” said Cathy. “It’s also a time when parents get to share resources, which many have said is a huge benefit of attending the class.”

During what we like to call “Therapeutic Thursdays,” Cathy and Gretchen provide cutting-edge treatment to support gross and fine motor skills. They also help with bracing garments and address diet and feeding, sleep and focus issues.

NEW to this class is speech-language pathology services, and we are excited to welcome Gail Nuse, CCC-SLP. Her work with our kiddos will help improve their communication skills and we couldn’t be more thrilled to add these skills to the class. Speech/Language therapy combined with OT and PT make a winning combination for our families. Not to mention it’s free of charge and available all in one class.

“I think the most rewarding moments are when a child does something for the first time and the parent’s eyes fill with tears of joy,” said Gretchen. “Our kids can do some amazing things. You just got to believe!”
