GiGi’s Playhouse Atlanta Launches an Equipment Lending Library!

GIGI’S PLAYHOUSE LENDING LIBRARY
GiGi’s Playhouse Atlanta/Roswell announces its new Lending Library that contains multi-sensory therapeutic equipment and toys that can be accessed by GiGi’s Playhouse families. This program lends equipment to families at no cost and is geared toward children from birth to 8 years and has over 25 items available for families to borrow for use in their own home.
The Lending Library was created by local Girl Scout and GiGi’s Junior Board member, Kara Stevens, who raised $3,000 to purchase and build the equipment. When COVID-19 forced many GiGi’s families to stay home, mobile equipment was needed for use with virtual therapy sessions. Kara consulted with GiGi’s volunteer physical, speech, and occupational therapists and GiGi’s families to create the library. Each item in the library has an accompanying video that explains its proper use and how it can help each child on various skills and challenges. Children can use the lending library items in their homes to work independently on specific skills or through virtual sessions with their therapist.
