We are expanding!!! How can you help?

Thanks for coming out last week to discuss our plans to open in the North Fulton area!

I truly believe this location will be a vibrant and active playhouse, and could be one of the best in the system. But, It will only be as good as the local community who supports it, promotes it, and stays actively involved. We will need lots of support to get it open and for all of our activities to be in place. Take a second to consider what you feel you can bring to the table to help our Playhouse be successful. All of us have a needed skill, even as simple as just coming out and promoting it within the community will be helpful. If any of the roles below seem appealing to you, please reply. Here are just a few of the leadership needs of the new center:

· We need a leader of this playhouse who will serve on our overall Board, bringing a voice to the table for North Fulton.
· A Programming Chair to make sure all of our desired programs and activities are scheduled and staffed. Our team in place will help guide this person, but a local voice will be needed.
· A Facilities Chair. We will be visiting prospective sites this Thursday and will have a much better idea of what kind of build out will be needed. But, we will definitely need help with: painting, installation of various items, solicitation for in kind donations from contractors, books, toys, furniture, etc… You will want this Playhouse to be yours, and I’m sure you will want it to look and feel a certain way. This person will make that happen!
· Outreach and Marketing. This is a very important role. Everything from communicating with our families to local outreach. Every therapist around needs to know about us as well as hospitals, Pediatricians, schools, etc.. You who live in the area who have a vested interest in the Playhouse, can do this the best.
· A Fundraising Chair will be needed.

Speaking of fundraising, our site is up for the upcoming 5k in May. This fundraiser is crucial this year, with our ambitious goals of opening in North Fulton while remodeling our existing Midtown location. Please sign up and spread the word about GiGi’s. Many of us are familiar with the Buddy Walk and how it raises money through teams. This is the same type of platform. If every family formed a team, I have no doubt we could raise enough money to properly build out and run North Fulton for a year. Go to https://support.gigisplayhouse.org/atlanta/events/atl-5k-2017/e121365 to sign up and form your team.

I would interested in having my 27 year daughter Donna Williams volunteer. And of course she has Down Syndrome. We live in Alpharetta. Donna and her business partner Jenna Quigley sold cards at the fund raiser that was held at the Midtown location. Just For You CardArt is their business name.

Hi Rita, WE are up and running in Roswell, if you are still interested in having Donna help out. We would also love to have her input into helping us launch adult programming and would be very interested in hearing what she would like to do.
