Celebrating Community: Our Experience at Global Payments’ Worldwide Day of Service

Lask week, we had the incredible opportunity to take part in Global Payments’ Worldwide Day of Service, an annual tradition that brings together hundreds of team members from across the company to give back to their communities. This year was extra special — not only was it their largest Worldwide Day of Service yet, but it also marked Global Payments’ 10-year milestone of community impact!

Hundreds of Global Payments team members came together to volunteer their time and talents with local nonprofits, including GiGi’s Playhouse Atlanta. And what better place to celebrate a day dedicated to teamwork than at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves!

The event kicked off in true Atlanta style—with a marching band, the Braves cheerleaders, and even a surprise visit from Blooper, the Braves’ beloved mascot! The lively opening set the tone for a day filled with energy, excitement, and purpose.

The CEO of Global Payments welcomed everyone with words of gratitude and inspiration, recognizing the 10 nonprofit partners represented that day. He shared that together, we all “help make our communities a better place to live and work.” It was the perfect way to begin a day centered on collaboration and giving back. Our Executive Director, Howie Rosenberg, addressed the crowd, relaying that it only take two requirements to volunteer at GiGi’s Playhouse, “You have to be accepting and you have to be kind.”

After the celebration, volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got to work! Our GiGi’s Playhouse team was blown away by the dedication and enthusiasm of the Global Payments volunteers.

Throughout the day, they helped us with projects for our biggest fundraising events—our Golf Classic and Gala—by assembling swag bags, stuffing thank-you letters for our generous donors, and loading up our vehicles with everything needed for the big weekend ahead. Every task was completed with teamwork, laughter, and a true spirit of service.

No great event is complete without great food! Volunteers were treated to a delicious lunch provided by Atlanta Braves Catering, giving everyone a chance to relax, connect, and reflect on the meaning of the day. Surrounded by the sights and sounds of Truist Park, it was a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when a community comes together.

Global Payments has long been a valued supporter of GiGi’s Playhouse—as a Bronze-level sponsor of our Golf Classic and Gala, and as regular volunteers with our GiGi’s Achievers program. Their commitment extends far beyond financial support; it’s a partnership built on shared values of inclusion, empowerment, and giving back.

As the day came to a close, our hearts were full. We’re so grateful to Global Payments for including us in this milestone event and for their continued partnership. Together, we’re making a lasting impact—not only in our Playhouse but throughout the entire community.
