A Morning with Intown Community School 5th grade class

It was wonderful speaking to youngsters who were attentive, interactive, and who were willing to help.
We talked a lot about Down syndrome and what it means to individuals that have that extra chromosome and how they can help make our community a better place for people of all stripes.
They learned and had a wonderful day of service!
These are a couple of excerpts from some of the great thank you letters from this wonderful group of kids:
“Thank you for letting us come to GiGi’s to help children with Down syndrome. I enjoyed cleaning the toys and helping out. I will remember what you have taught us about special children. Each time I look at someone who is different and doing something differently, I will remember it is sometimes harder for them than it is for me.” – K (Understanding)

“Thank you so much for letting us come and help clean toys. I really enjoyed the water bottles. I also like learning about people with Down syndrome, next time I a person with it I will say hello.” – H (Inclusion)

“Thank you so much for letting us come and clean all of your toys. I lover learning all about Down syndrome. I will always be nice to people with Down syndrome.” – E (Acceptance)

“Thank you for letting us be a servant. I learned that kids with Down syndrome want to be like everybody else. The Playhouse was fun because we could be sill while we were cleaning.” – D (Equal)
