Oh what an Intern! Meet Stephanie Hamm.

We are super excited to have Intern Stephanie Hamm join us for the beginning of 2021!  Let’s meet the young lady behind the mask.

Steph Hamm is an occupational therapy doctorate student at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Her final semester of OT school consists of a full-time internship which she is completing at Gigi’s Playhouse Atlanta. Prior to OT school, she received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a concentration in therapeutic recreation. Steph discovered Gigi’s Playhouse via social media platforms and quickly reached out to Howie Rosenberg about a potential internship. At Gigi’s Playhouse, she is involved in program development, research, and advocacy. She currently plans and implements Playhouse Pals, Thursday with Steph, and Creative Movement programs.

Growing up, one of Steph’s best friends was her neighbor with Down syndrome. Their friendship fostered Steph’s passion for working with individuals with disabilities. Her passion grew stronger as she got involved with Special Olympics, peer tutoring, therapeutic recreation events, and camps for children with disabilities. She will continue to pursue her passion of working with individuals with disabilities through her career in occupational therapy.
