World Down Syndrome Day with the Hawks

On Saturday, March 25, the Atlanta Hawks help us continue to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day. The Knight Family was gifted game tickets and an on-court experience courtesy of the Lady Hawks. The Lady Hawks is a group of women comprised of the wives, significant others, and mothers of Hawks players, coaches, basketball operations staff, and management whose mission is to enrich our Atlanta community through initiatives that serve and support women and youth.

Here is Miles Knight’s recap of the game:

We had THE B.E.S.T. time last night at the game!  The boys are still talking about it this morning and wanting to go back!  Everything about the event was just perfect – from [the] communications on what to expect, parking, being greeted upon arrival, to the courtside hang out, to the seats and food, etc.  Everyone was so kind and hospitable!  We were also impressed with the interaction with players.  I recognize they were preparing for a crucial game and yet they made time to meet, take pictures, sign autographs and engage with our boys – truly amazing!  Additionally – we cannot thank the Lady Hawks enough for the extraordinary generosity of hosting us.  The boys slept in their jerseys!   We feel extremely blessed and grateful for the opportunity and experience; we were able to create memories to last a lifetime!
It is evident that the Lady Hawks and the Atlanta Hawks organization (from the parking team to staff, general manager, players and family) not only embrace but live out this mission as well.  It is humbling and reassuring of the support, encouragement, and acceptance of all championed by these organizations as we experienced last night. For me, it was more than just a game (and it was a great game!) – it was the experience of others accepting and embracing our boys!

Max and Ben met Trae Young and other Hawks players!
