Scully Steps Into the Kitchen!
After a busy summer, Scully finally made his way back to GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau—and straight into our Kitchen Teen program. His return was more than just a reunion; it was a moment of growth, leadership, and laughter that reminded us all why we love what we do.
From the moment Scully walked through the doors, it was clear he hadn’t missed a beat. With a confident smile and a readiness to jump in, he stepped into a leadership role. The kitchen buzzed with energy as he helped guide the group through one of our favorite recipes: pigs in a blanket. It wasn’t just about cooking—it was about connection, teamwork, and building life skills in a space filled with encouragement and joy.
Scully followed directions with focus and enthusiasm, showing his peers how to roll the dough just right and wrap each little sausage with care. He asked questions, offered help, and made sure everyone felt included. His natural ability to lead by example turned the cooking session into a collaborative experience, where learning was fun and every step was celebrated.
But the magic didn’t stop at the stove. Once the pigs in a blanket were baking, Scully took the initiative to start cleaning up. He grabbed a towel, wiped down counters, and even got a few others to join in. What could have been a quiet chore turned into a lively moment full of laughter and teamwork.
Watching Scully in action reminded volunteers of the power of inclusion and the importance of creating spaces where everyone can thrive. His participation was a reminder that leadership comes in many forms, and sometimes, it’s as simple as showing up, lending a hand, and sharing a smile.

As the session wrapped up, the group gathered to enjoy their delicious creations. Pigs in a blanket never tasted so good—seasoned with teamwork, laughter, and a whole lot of heart. Scully’s presence brought a renewed energy to the kitchen, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come this season.
At GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau, we believe in celebrating every achievement, big or small. Scully’s return was a celebration of growth, resilience, and the joy of being together. We’re so proud of the leader he’s becoming and grateful for the light he brings to our community.
There’s always something cooking at GiGi’s Playhouse—and it’s always made with love.
