Where You Can Find the SOE Wall
When you walk into the Playhouse, you’ll find the SOE Wall right at the front of the building near Mark’s work area, making it one of the first things families, volunteers, and visitors can see. Its placement is intentional—this wall is meant to be seen, interacted with, and celebrated.
What Is the SOE Wall?
The SOE Wall highlights the expectations and best practices that guide how every Playhouse operates. It reflects our dedication to providing consistent, high‑quality programming, hospitality, communication, and operations across all GiGi’s Playhouse locations.
Each element on the wall serves as a reminder of our mission: to change the way the world views Down syndrome and to send a global message of acceptance for all.
Three Levels of Achievement
Every Playhouse is evaluated within several SOE categories, and in each category, a location can achieve one of three levels:
1. Baseline
Meeting the essential requirements of Playhouse operations.
2. Strong
Going beyond the basics and demonstrating consistent, reliable excellence.
3. Center of Excellence
The highest possible level—representing exceptional performance, sustainability, and leadership across all areas.
This year, our staff and board have set a bold, high‑expectation goal: to achieve Center of Excellence in every category.

Who Is Involved?
While the SOE initiative is primarily driven by our staff and board, everyone who enters our Playhouse plays a part in supporting it.
- Staff use the wall to evaluate processes, identify wins, and make improvements.
- Board members guide long‑term alignment and strategic focus.
- Volunteers and families contribute by participating, offering feedback, and celebrating progress with us.
Even though it is not a requirement for families or volunteers, their awareness and encouragement help keep our momentum strong.
