A Day of Joy and Inclusion: GiGi’s Playhouse Sacramento 2024 Acceptance Challenge

What a day to remember! GiGi’s Playhouse Sacramento’s 2024 GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge at Maidu Park was a whirlwind of fun, laughter, and community spirit. Families, friends, and supporters gathered to celebrate acceptance and inclusion, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

The event kicked off with local vendors showcasing their products, from handcrafted jewelry to delicious snacks. The energy was infectious as attendees explored the booths, engaging with vendors and discovering new treasures and resources.


Games and Face Painting

Kids (and kids at heart) had a blast with games and bubbles. The face painting station was a hit, with artists transforming faces into colorful masterpieces.


A Special Guest Appearance

Excitement peaked when Dinger, the mascot from the Sacramento Rivercats, made an appearance. Dinger brought smiles, high-fives, and photo opportunities for everyone. Let’s not forget his COOL dance moves!

Grooving to the Beats

Our DJ kept the energy high with a mix of tunes that had everyone dancing. From toddlers to grandparents, the dance floor was alive with rhythm and joy.

GiGi’s Band Rocks the Event

GiGi’s band rocked the event with their outstanding performance, adding to the festive atmosphere and bringing everyone together through the power of music.


5K Run and 1 Mile Walk at Maidu Park

One of the highlights was the 5k run and 1 mile walk. Participants of all ages and abilities showed their support, with cheers of encouragement echoing through the park. Runners and walkers were greeted with encouragement signs and bubble guns!

The 21-Yard Dash for Down Syndrome Awareness

The highlight was the 21-yard dash, raising awareness for Down syndrome. The crowd’s cheers were deafening as runners dashed to the finish line, their smiles and pride unforgettable as the kids received their medals!


California Highway Patrol Joins the Fun

Officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) added excitement by interacting with the community, showcasing their vehicles, and joining in the festivities.

Inspiring Speeches

A standout moment was the inspiring speeches by our adult participants with Down syndrome. Their words moved and motivated everyone, highlighting the importance of acceptance and inclusion in our community.


A Celebration of Acceptance

GiGi’s Playhouse Sacramento’s 2024 Acceptance Challenge was more than just an event; it was a celebration of acceptance, inclusion, and community. The smiles, laughter, and camaraderie shared throughout the day were a testament to the power of acceptance and the incredible spirit of our community.


Fundraising Success

Together, we raised over $62,000 as a community, demonstrating the strength of our collective efforts and the impact we can make when we come together.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and supported this wonderful event. Together, we are making a difference and spreading the message of acceptance far and wide. We can’t wait to see you all again next year for another unforgettable joining of ACCEPTANCE!
