Illinois Budget Cuts

I attended a legislative meet & greet held at Milestone, Inc. with Senator Stadleman and Rep. Litesa Wallace. This meeting was in held in light of the unbelievable proposed budget cut of $26 million dollars to social services and public health grants to agencies in the state of Illinois. The proposed cuts will cause havoc in our society. It will affect thousands of individuals and families in your community. Home services will be slashed, programs will be eliminated, people will loose their jobs and the list goes on and on.

I want to encourage everyone to make your VOICE known by calling your State Representatives now!! Tell them your story of how your local social service agency has impacted your life. Tell them what would happen if your services were slashed and eliminated from your daily living. The word needs to get out that these programs are vital to our community, a successful community.

Not only call your State Representatives, but write letters to the editor and call your local media. Make sure you VOICE is being heard!
