Violet’s Giving

As we enter the season of giving, it seems appropriate to start us off with a great example of giving back by spotlighting a very generous Playhouse participant. Violet (age 18) is a long-time participant who recently came in with a $500 donation for us! She works hard to earn her paycheck but loves coming to the Rockford Playhouse, and she wanted to express her gratitude! 

Violet is a perfect example of why it is vital to put individuals with Down syndrome in a position to succeed and contribute to our community. Employers have the opportunity to provide positive experiences for individuals with Down syndrome, in turn allowing them the chance to make an impact and give back. At GiGi’s Playhouse Rockford, we believe so strongly in allowing our participants to work those giving muscles that we created a project to prioritize just that. It is so important to us that all of our participants have a giving spirit like our Violet, and lucky for our Playhouse and our community, all of our participants do. Thank you, again to Violet, she is a wonderful role model and an amazing person!
