Dear GiGi’s Families,

I am writing to let you know that I have resigned from my position of Executive Director as of September 21st. Although I have loved my time serving GiGi’s Playhouse Rockford, I have accepted a position with Wesley Willows as their Chief Advancement Officer.

When I came here I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know much about Down syndrome and people with Down syndrome. But I was open-minded and open-hearted. It didn’t take long to fall in love with such a wonderful group of people and their families. I hope you all know that for me this was much more than just a job, it became a passion for me, it became a part of my life.

During my tenure at GiGi’s, I have seen so much growth and movement in the Playhouse which gives me much joy. I have worked alongside some excellent participants, staff, volunteers and community leaders. I believe that I am a better person because I have worked at GiGi’s Playhouse. Thank you for believing in me and accepting me the past 5 years. I will never forget my time with all of you.

The GiGi’s Playhouse Rockford Board of Directors have put a plan into place during the absence of the Executive Director. The Board will be accepting applications through the Workplace and will choose the right leader for this position.

The Board of Directors have provided an opportunity for me to say “thank you” to you on Thursday, September 27 from 5-7:30 pm at the Playhouse. Please stop by for refreshments and a time to say goodbye. I want to see you all because you all have played such an important part of my life.

With Gratitude,

Paula Capone
Executive Director
GiGi’s Playhouse Rockford
