“When I see the excitement in her eyes when she knows we are going to GiGi’s…”

My name is Madeline, and I have a beautiful, sassy, 7 year old daughter named Caroline.    I became involved in the Down Syndrome community almost immediately after Caroline was born and I received her diagnosis.  We were active members of the Triangle Down Syndrome Network, and appreciated the support and education it provided.  When I learned there would be a GiGi’s Playhouse established in Raleigh I was very excited.  GiGi’s Playhouse offers even more opportunities for Caroline to learn, grow, have fun, and make friends.  I wanted to contribute how I could to make sure Caroline had a chance to access all available possibilities.  I have volunteered for the programs for her age group, taking on new roles as she gets older.  I have volunteered by leading Leaps and Bounds, Playhouse Pals, and now Creative Exploration.  GiGi’s has become a favorite destination for Caroline, and she has friends that she looks forward to seeing.  When I see the excitement in her eyes when she knows we are going to GiGi’s, I know I will continue to do what I can to assist in providing those opportunities.

Our volunteers ROCK!

Thank you, Madeline and all volunteers, for all you do. So many friendships, best of all moments, growth and laughter are shared every time you are here! #GenerationG #bestofall
