Volunteer Spotlight: Kate

Kate Brown is one of our dedicated program volunteers and we are excited to highlight her as our August volunteer of the month! She gives countless hours of her time as a program leader for the Abilities Dance program – teaching participants techniques, skills and choreography in a casual and fun environment! This past Summer, Kate was eager to transition the dance program to virtual offerings, leading programs weekly on Mondays and Wednesdays so we could offer this fun program to participants ages 9+.

When asked about her volunteer experience, Kate said “I began dancing at a very young age and fell in love with it right away. I then started as a teacher assistant at my dance studio and became involved with Abilities Dance. Abilities Dance allows participants of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to develop and passion and love for dance. This program has allowed me the opportunity to share what I love with an amazing community of friends here at GiGi’s Playhouse Raleigh. I love teaching and seeing everyone’s “Best of All”  & especially their favorite dance move for that week. I can’t wait to continue leading virtually this Fall.”

Kate will be leading Abilities Dance (ages 13+) each Monday @ 4:30pm starting 9/14, through the end of November! Head to the online calendar and RSVP for her upcoming programs today! As Kate says: “See you all online & keep on dancing”
