Val’s Spotlight: A Champion of GiGi’s

At GiGi’s Playhouse, we are incredibly fortunate to have volunteers who embody the mission of inclusion and empowerment. Among them, Val stands out not only for her dedication but also for her personal connection to the cause. With a sister with Down syndrome, Val brings a deep passion and understanding to everything she does, especially in her pivotal role in creating and leading the SWOL program.

When Val saw the need for a fitness program that was both engaging and accessible, she took the initiative to design SWOL (Strength Without Labels). The program offers participants a fun and safe environment, aiming to inspire confidence, enhance physical health, and improve overall well-being, all while building connections with peers. Their mission is to challenge stereotypes, promote inclusivity, and foster a community where all individual’s unique abilities are celebrated.

Her leadership and empathy have turned SWOL into more than just a program; it’s become a highlight for many participants and families at GiGi’s Playhouse. We are incredibly grateful to Val for all she has done and continues to do for our community, and for turning her vision into a reality that is positively impacting so many lives.

Val’s story reminds us of the power of community and how one person’s dedication can create lasting change. Thank you, Val, for being such a shining light at our Playhouse!
