GiGi’s Playhouse Raleigh is more than a program. They are FAMILY!
Our experience at GiGi’s Playhouse Raleigh has been truly amazing. There is no way for us to be able to express how grateful we are for the volunteers that devote their time and energy toward the programs offered at GiGi’s. We have two participants in our family that attend programs and events at GiGi’s Playhouse on a regular basis. They have both grown so much and we know that GiGi’s Playhouse and their amazing volunteers have been a huge part of that success.

The adult programs for our niece are incredible. Through Group Speech offered by Dr. Tom and his graduate students, she has had the opportunity to interact and learn along side other adults while being able to take her time to build her vocabulary and build friendships. She has really enjoyed the yoga programs that are offered as well as the numerous events that have been hosted. To have programs available for adults that are free and acknowledge that everyone deserves the opportunity to reach their fullest potential is truly remarkable.

We also have a seven-year-old with Down Syndrome who started attending GiGi’s shortly after the grand opening. The opportunities that have been available for her to participate in and grow are numerous, and the number of volunteers that it takes to pull off each of the programs and events abounds. Mia has participated in countless programs and events and each time we watch her grow just a little bit more. She just finished her kindergarten year in a regular-ed class setting and has been promoted to first grade where she will also be with her typical developing peers. The math and literacy one-on-one programs have been such a blessing to our family. To have people who want to see your child succeed as much as you do leaves you speechless.

If you ask Mia what her favorite things to do at GiGi’s are she will tell you, Young Athletes with Miss Rachel and Miss Lauren, Math, and of course Speech with Dr. Tom. However, she truly has enjoyed every program and event and has grown and learned just a little bit more each time.

The great part about GiGi’s is that there is something for everyone. One on one programs to group programs. Academic building to motor skills building. Social and emotional building to awareness and support for parents and caregivers. The list in endless.  We are so grateful that GiGi’s Playhouse Raleigh is a part of Mia’s Journey and a part of our extended Family.
