The Impact of Speech Therapy Programs

We recently wrapped up another session of our Amina Grace Program for Spring 2022. Here are some wonderful impact statements from our NCCU graduate students, led by Dr. Kathryn Dorney!

“I am so glad that I was placed at GiGi’s Playhouse Raleigh this semester! Every time I walked through the door, I felt welcomed and a valued member of the community. The positive impact that the participants have had on my personal and professional life is immeasurable!” -Celina Skrtich

“I absolutely loved having my graduate clinician internship at GiGi’s Playhouse, Raleigh, and I would love to volunteer again (after I graduate and find a job). The team of volunteers are so helpful and collaborative, and I felt supported as I was a newcomer. Overall, my big take away was the amount of love and sweetness that I felt from the participants. The relationships that were built were genuine and meaningful. Such a great place to laugh and learn. Thank you for the experience!” -Leo Fitzpatrick

“My experience at Gigi’s playhouse has been absolutely amazing. All the participants I met and interacted with made such a difference in my life. I am grateful to have met everyone that I did. I wish I could have stayed longer because I will miss their sweet faces and personalities so much. Gigi’s playhouse is such a magical place where all feel loved and accepted as soon as they enter the doors! I will definitely be back to visit!” -Rachel Hardy
