Run, dance, drive…oh my!

Does it seem like we are always fundraising? Well we are!

GiGi’s is 100% privately funded by:

  • private donations (one-time, monthly, annually, memorials)
  • special event fundraisers (I have a Voice Gala, Superhero 5K Run and Walk)
  • community fundraisers (dine to donate, car shows, poker run, concerts and more)
  • sponsorships (gala, race, areas of the Playhouse)
  • grants (local foundations, churches, organizations)

Here at GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities, we offer FREE programming for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. We also work hard to build awareness throughout the Quad Cities and surrounding areas. While programming is free for families it is not free to the Playhouse which is what makes fundraising so important.

Did you know we serve both Iowa and Illinois sides of the Quad Cities? We do!

There are no boundaries for service area, there are no income guidelines for families either. Programs are always free for families regardless of where they live, what their income may be, or the age of their loved one with Down syndrome. We have programs for all ages!

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “Strength in numbers”! Our fundraising efforts are stronger when there are more people involved. Involvement doesn’t necessarily mean donating. You can be involved by serving on a fundraising committee, volunteering for special events, or by promoting the fundraisers that take place throughout the year.

There are always two guaranteed fundraisers. We hold a gala every spring and the race in the fall. These are the two events that are planned and organized by the Playhouse families, volunteers, and staff. Often there are other fundraisers taking place that are organized by community members or organizations that have generously decided to donated proceeds to GiGi’s. We are truly blessed by the community support here in the Quad Cities and the surrounding area too!

Another way to be involved and/or help is to see if your employer, church or affiliated organization/club has a matching funds program or a grant/foundation that you can apply for on our behalf.

Together we can reach a larger audience of supporters and find funding opportunities that we may not be aware of. We’re stronger together! Will you help?

If you’d like to know more about our fundraising efforts or how you can be involved, please email Pam at plynch@gigisplayhouse.org or call 309-762-PLAY (7529).

This summer and fall our supporters will be driving, dancing, and running! Be sure to check the calendar on our website to be part of the action.
