10 Years of Volunteering

Saying goodbye is hard but we hope this isn’t a true goodbye!

At the end of this year, 3 of our board members are cycling off the board. I believe they won’t truly go away and we will continue to see some of them at programming and special events.

These three have filled the roles of Vice President, President, Treasurer, and Secretary at some point in their time on the board. One has been on the board for 5 years and collectively they have 10 years of time volunteering as board members. To say they will be missed is an understatement!

When asked to give a quote about their time on the board this is what they had to say:

“It was a pleasure to work with so many nice and generous people from the board, employees, participants, parents, and families of the Gigi’s community. I have always felt welcome at the meetings and events that I attended. I hope that I left the treasurer position in good standing for continued financial success. I believe that the organization has their hearts in the right place to continue moving forward both locally and nationally. Thank you for the volunteer opportunity that I will continue to benefit from.”

“This has been a great journey to be a part of and I can’t wait to see how much progresses in the next few years It was a blessing to be able to be a part of the team and watch the organization grow to what it is today. It’s been an honor to be a part of something bigger and I’ll never forget my experience or the relationships I have gained.”

“There are no words to describe what this organization means to me.  I joined the Board because I felt a personal indebtedness to the life changing effect the Playhouse gave my wife and I during our first visit, which came 2 days after receiving our daughter’s diagnosis.”

Thank you to Brad, Kaitlyn, and Brian for your belief in GiGi’s and the time, talents, and passion that you put into volunteering as a board member over the past few years. We were honored and blessed to have you as part of our team.

This is not goodbye! It is just a “See You Later”. Hopefully, sooner than later!

*If you or someone you know may be interested in serving as a board member for GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities, please contact us for an application. It will then be submitted to the board for consideration. Not all applications are accepted due to limited space and the requirements for specific knowledge areas.
