End of year appeal

Dear GiGi’s Playhouse Orange County Supporters, 

First, we want to thank you for believing in GiGi’s Playhouse Orange County and for helping to change the way the world views Down syndrome.  We cannot wait to open GiGi’s Playhouse Orange County and with your help, it WILL become a reality.  Although 2020 is definitely NOT what we had in store, we HAVE made great progress. 

  1. GiGi’s Playhouse Orange County launched the Believe In Our Build Fundraising Campaign and have raised $50,394 so far!   
  2. The new virtual program, GiGi’s at Home, was launched with huge success.  This gives Orange County a first-hand look at the GiGi’s Playhouse experience and the programs that will be available when GiGi’s Playhouse Orange County opens.  GiGi’s at Home offers both Live and On Demand FREE purposeful programs to individuals with Down syndrome of all ages from birth to adult. 
  3. We have partnered with Northwestern Mutual to honor the life of Todd Anderson with the Todd Anderson Memorial Fund.  All money raised will benefit Todd’s son Davis, who has Down syndrome, as well as the entire Orange County Down syndrome community. 

Goals for 2021 

  1. Find a location for GiGi’s Playhouse Orange County!  We will begin our search for the perfect facility in early 2021.  This will take time and any leads on a location or if you have a connection to commercial real estate or property management, please reach out to orangecounty@gigisplayhouse.org. 
  2. We will be offering virtual one-on-one Literacy and Math tutoring!  We are very excited to offer this service to the Orange County Down syndrome community.  Stay tuned for more information on these two programs.  
  3. Mark your calendars for our Second Annual GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge on June 5, 2021! Our goal is to get 1 million people throughout all 50 GiGi’s Playhouse locations to collectively participate in a physical and social movement for acceptance. All money raised in Orange County will go to the opening and build out of GiGi’s Playhouse Orange County. 
  4. We will continue to raise awareness about Down syndrome and GiGi’s Playhouse Orange County and ask for your help in spreading the word. 
  5. Open GiGi’s Playhouse Orange County!  Our goal is to celebrate our Grand Opening in late 2021.
