Participant Spotlight: Troy Providenti

Our participant spotlight this week is Troy Providenti, a participant of 8 years at GiGi’s Playhouse NYC. GiGi’s NYC has known Troy since the beginning and we have been so amazed by his commitment to our programs and how much a true friend he is to everyone who steps foot on the playhouse. One passion that resounds at the heart of Troy is his passion for music. “In my free time I like to make music all by myself” says Troy. Our volunteer Jane asks “Do you compose music?” Troy, “Yes, yes I do! My favorite instrument to play, is the drums.” During our GiGi’s Playhouse NYC Fashion show presented by Bloomingdales, you might have even caught a glimpse of Troy walking down the runway holding up a guitar. He is a guy of many musical talents to be sure. “An interesting fact about me is that I like to make a lot of videos. I actually want to make a video it’s going to be to the song ‘Try Everything’ and it’s going to be for GiGi’s Playhouse (NYC)” says Troy. Troy is also a member of our “i have a Voice” Community Chorus and has sang at the GiGi’s Playhouse Gala along with the NDSS Gala for the past 2 years. You will also catch Troy spinning some tracks at this years GiGi’s Playhouse “i have a Voice” Gala as he is going to be our DJ during the event and has DJ’d at other Galas and events around NYC as well.

Troy has also become a dedicated participant of TeenTastic and has made long lasting friendships with everyone in the program. Troy even confirmed “My favorite program at GiGi’s (NYC) is TeenTastic!” and he really gets along with the volunteer leader of the Program Andy Kleiman! Troy not only enjoys music and TeenTastic, but he is very active and is involved in many different athletic programs. We asked Troy what his favorite part about GiGi’s NYC was to him and he told us: “I like everything. It makes me so happy to see my friends. I like hanging out with my friends and when we go out and play basketball in the summer on the playground.” He also mentioned “I am so glad I have so many friends like me at GiGi’s Playhouse and I love it when I can make all of my friends happy.” Troy, you are a great friend, and positive inspiration to others! We enjoy seeing you every time you walk inside the playhouse doors and we cant wait for the next opportunity to hang out at the playhouse with you!
