GiGi’s NYC Summer Programs: Travel the World in 5 Days!

We just wrapped up our adult summer programs here at GiGi’s NYC, and what an incredible few weeks it has been! Over the course of three jam-packed weeks, around 30 adults joined us for a series of fun, engaging, and educational activities designed to make the summer memorable. This year, we took our participants on an exciting journey around the globe with our theme, “Travel the World in 5 Days.”

Each day, our participants “visited” a different country, immersing themselves in the culture, cuisine, and traditions of destinations like Japan, India, Mexico, Kenya, Italy, China, Greece, Brazil, and France—all from the comfort of our NYC Playhouse. It was an enriching experience full of discovery and cultural exchange, allowing everyone to broaden their horizons without leaving the city.

Culinary experiences were a highlight of the summer programs! Participants had the chance to get hands-on with different cuisines. They made delicious guacamole, tossed pizza dough for pizza toss competition, and even prepared sushi. To top it off, they taste-tested various teas from China, learning about the rich traditions behind each brew. These culinary activities added a flavorful dimension to the cultural explorations, making the experience even more immersive and fun.

Creative activities were also a big hit! Participants painted at our neighborhood painting Lounge, and enjoyed a workshop at Hauser and Wirth, enjoying a relaxed and artistic atmosphere. We visited Central Park, soaking in the summer sun and the city’s natural beauty. And one of the most exciting experiences was visiting the construction site of our new location, protected by our GiGi’s NYC hard hats and getting a sneak peek of what’s to come for GiGi’s NYC!

We wrapped up each week with a fantastic talent show, where each group showcased their unique talents and creativity. It was a joyful celebration of everyone’s cool skills, whether it was singing, dancing, or some creative surprise. Seeing everyone come together to share what they’d learned and discovered was a perfect way to end such an inspiring summer.

Throughout these three weeks, everyone stayed active, engaged, and connected. Our participants loved the mix of cultural exploration, outdoor activities, and social gatherings, all designed to foster friendship and enjoyment during the summer months. It was wonderful to see everyone come together, share stories, and create new memories.

We are already looking forward to next month, when our Kids Club and Teens summer programs will kick off. We’re thrilled to have our younger participants join us for more fun, learning, and adventures. Stay tuned—big things are happening at GiGi’s NYC!
