inspire and believe

Within our first week of being open there were over ten families who came through our door.  Some came for their first and second time to the playhouse this week!!  Not only did we feel we served our children and families but we also had interested donors, and community members wanting to connect with people and programs. We also had a few Grandparents come in this week.  One of them, their grandchild with Ds didn’t even live in TN. But because of this special granddaughter in this women’s life, she started doing her own research and was inspired to connect with GiGi’s Playhouse, and see how she can use her skills as a reading specialist to benefit the playhouse.  Another grandmother came in that same day and made a donation in her granddaughter’s name.  It was inspiring for us to see how a child with Down syndrome inspired these individuals. Not only do we strive to education, inspire, believe in the children who come through our doors, but the opposite is just as true.  It is the children who are inspiring, educating and encouraging the community to believe in them.  What a blessing and gift, we are so thankful for the beautiful children with Down syndrome who have created this loving community in Nashville and around the world.
