This inspiring fashion show highlights the many ways our participants shine. Models will take the runway in outfits that reflect their personalities, celebrating inclusion and confidence. 20 adaptive outfits have been provided by Kohl’s. Adaptive wear can be found by searching on Kohl’s website and include adaptations such as Velcro or magnets for closures at the waist, shirt or dress fronts, necklines or pant legs, openings for ports or G-tubes, pulls for leggings at the waist, layers for shirts to increase privacy for ports or tubes, pull on or elastic waistband dresses, and more easy pull or magnetic close zippers!

20 models with Down syndrome or other disabilities will be selected to walk the runway in adaptive clothing provided by Kohl’s. Models will represent a range of ages, backgrounds, and personalities. Additional models may also be walking the runway if additional sponsors or in-kind donors come forward. Our goal is to assemble a diverse group representing various ages, sizes, genders, and skin colors. Factors such as confidence level, reliability, outgoing demeanor, and comfort in front of a camera will also be considered in choosing the runway models. If there is more interest than available runway spots, then we will do our best to create roles for non-runway models as greeters, ushers and general helpers at the event.

We are excited to offer hair and make-up to our models for this event. We look forward to having hairdressers and make-up artists onsite. Models should arrive with clean and dry hair on event day for hair styling and with a clean face for make-up services. We are so thankful for -to be able to provide this service to our models thanks to our event sponsors and in-kind providers!

Our participants have big personalities, and all deserve a chance to shine in the spotlight and give voice to all they are capable of! This event not only raises essential funds for our purposeful programming supporting individuals with Down syndrome throughout their lifespan—it also gives our community the opportunity to celebrate what makes each individual unique. 

Absolutely! You can:

• Donate in-kind goods or services (snacks, decorations, emcee, DJ, music support, photography, flowers, décor, make-up, etc.)
• Volunteer to help at the event (set-up, greeters, model support, etc.)

• Donations for Kosher food and/or beverages
