Brenna is often found at Friday Friends and is on the Self-Advocacy Council of Northern Illinois.

If it were up to Cathy Christensen, someday, adults with disabilities would make their own decisions about where to live.

As founder of the Self-Advocacy Council of Northern Illinois, the Bull Valley resident and her 21-year-old son, Jason Nosbaum, want to change the way adults with disabilities are treated in Illinois.

Brenna Lindquist of McHenry dances back to her seat Sunday after her turn as the Self-Advocacy Council of Northern Illinois hosted its third anniversary party during cosmic bowling at Brunswick Zone in Algonquin. The council is dedicated to the belief that all people with disabilities are capable of and should be directing their own lives.
