Thank you all: 2024 National/Hoffman GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge!!
On June 15, we hosted our annual GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge (GFAC). The challenge is simple, support our Hoffman Estates location and take part in the festivities. Show your commitment to the inclusion of those with Down syndrome and all unique abilities!
With over 450+ participants and volunteers coming out to support our mission of acceptance, we couldn’t be more grateful. In total, we were able to raise over $136,000 and counting.
We were joined by families, friends, and GiGi’s supporters on a beautiful Saturday at NOW Arena! Our morning started off with the 5k run, nothing but smiling faces and determination were seen at the starting line. Supporters lined the path cheering on our amazing runners!
As our runners crossed the finish line, we prepared for our 1 mile walk for acceptance. Kids and adults of all ages were able to participate and show their support! The standout activity of the day was the Kids and Dads Dash—lively and spirited races that brought smiles to both young and old alike. The atmosphere was electric with anticipation as the kids eagerly lined up, ready to sprint. The finish line welcomed our participants with a #GenerationG medal, a keepsake of their achievement!
Our dads then took the starting line, beginning their run with a non-alcoholic beverage from Go Brewing to finish before making the dash. The atmosphere was amazing, hearing the crowd cheer with excitement. It was truly the perfect way to celebrate the Fathers Day weekend!
The top 10 teams were celebrated for their outstanding dedication and performance in promoting fitness, inclusion, and community spirit. Each team demonstrated exceptional teamwork and perseverance, inspiring others with their enthusiasm and commitment to the cause. Their efforts not only contributed to the success of the event but also highlighted the importance of coming together to support acceptance and diversity.
We want to thank every single person who made GFAC such a success. Whether you were on a team, donated, volunteered, or just shared the GiGi’s mission.
