From L.M.N.O.P to Leaps & Bounds

Last month for the first time, Sara and I participated in the Leaps and Bounds program. We have been coming to the L.M.N.O.P. program since Sara was very young and now she has transitioned out of the L.M.N.O.P. since she is attendeding school during the day now. We were super excited to begin attending the Leaps and Bounds program once a month! The program was Winter themed and Sara made different snowmen from homemade play dough and paper plates, read a book, sang songs, played with the parachute and Sara just had so much fun.

Sara really enjoyed making the fleece snowman on the felt board and singing melting down snowman (visual). She loved playing with parachute with her friends while adding snowflakes to the parachute.

The program was run by 2 volunteers, Nancy the program leader who does an amazing job keeping activities interesting and fun and Chris (13 years old) who assists and supports our kids during program and also has a younger sister with Down syndrome. Sara really bonded with Chris at Leaps and Bounds.

I, as a parent, liked that the program included different educational and physical activities.  The kids were learning how to take turns, following directions, expanding their vocabulary (winter theme), and working on fine and gross motor skills. The program is a great extension of school teachings and I can see it being very beneficial to Sara. We were also very happy to see our old and new friends at the program.

So who is coming to the next Leaps and Bounds on Saturday, February 17th?!!

This program runs the 3rd Saturday of the month from 11:00-12:00pm.
