Fun with STEM!

This past week, we started piloting a new STEM Lab program here at GiGi’s Playhouse Hoffman Estates! This new and groundbreaking pilot program explores Science, Technology, Engineering, and math in a fun and engaging way.

Participants explored the states of matter (solids, liquids, gasses), made hypotheses, and more by combining ingredients to make Oobleck, a non-newtonian solid that flows between a liquid and a solid depending on the pressure applied to it.

STEM Lab is an engaging and dynamic group program that nurtures essential developmental skills through hands-on exploration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. This program fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving while developing cognitive skills and building confidence. STEM Lab empowers individuals with Down syndrome to explore STEM concepts in a fun, supportive, and interactive environment through experiments, creative challenges, and innovative problem-solving tasks.
