Calling all Speech-Language Pathologists!!!

GiGi’s Playhouse is looking for Speech-Language Pathology volunteers to help with communication services for our families waiting to receive therapy for the Amina Grace Speech and Language Program. SLPs would be asked to complete simple assessments, generate goals and provide weekly 30-minute sessions for a period of 10 weeks. Each SLP could take as many participants as he or she feels comfortable.

The purpose of the Amina Grace Speech and Language Program is to provide children, teens and adults with greatly expanded opportunities to evolve and refine their speech and language skills. Effective pronunciation, clarity of speech, word order and message meaning are paramount to fostering greater self-confidence, comprehension, problem-solving, school readiness, social skills, independence, and overall quality of life.

The Speech-Language Pathologist will work one-on-one with each participant for 30 minutes per week, preparing for school readiness, vocational transition and independent lives. Participants from infancy through adulthood are eligible for this free program. There are four 10-week Speech and Language sessions per year. Participants must register before each session and are scheduled based on the days/times they are available compared to the Speech-Language Pathologist’s schedule and availability. There will be 25 slots offered each session. Sessions will occur Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

If you are interested in helping our families achieve their communication needs, please contact Sarah Buti, Speech-Language Pathologist, at GiGi’s Playhouse 847-885-7529 or SButi@gigisplayhouse.org

We thank you so much for your consideration and appreciate any and all help we receive!
