The More, the Merrier!

Everyone has a favorite day of the week. At GiGi University, our favorite day is Wednesday. Why? Because Wednesday is the day that GiGi U and GiGi Prep join as one class, and together, we have a group of fifteen students! What a class!

The best part of this day for me, as a teacher, is to see the mentorship and relationships that form. GiGi U students volunteer to help the GiGi Prep students, and the GiGi Prep students willingly accept the help and guidance. This is amazing to see! Not only does this give the students a boost of confidence being able to help their peers, but it is a different experience than a teacher helping them each time. Plus, these GiGi Prep students will feel wonderful when they become GiGi U students in the future, continue to learn and grow, and then get to return the favor!

What do we do with a group of 15 students? Well, of course, we eat! This is another reason Wednesday is our favorite day. All the students get to prepare and cook their own healthy lunches. We make everything from salads and sandwiches to healthy versions of everyone’s favorite foods like tacos and pizza! Yum!!

Of course, we also love to work out, practice math skills, and learn about exciting life skills and careers!

No matter what we do, we always have fun doing it! Being a mentor is such an amazing feeling for all, which is why in GiGi University, we say, the more, the merrier!
