Last week of our Winter tutoring session…

Well folks, our Winter tutoring session is coming to a close this week.  I can’t begin to tell you all of the wonderful things I have witnessed over the last 10 weeks – students who came into the Playhouse not knowing how to read are now past the B level reading books in Literacy, tutors who were new to the program this session are now feeling prepared and ready to have even more students for the next session, and, most importantly, life-long bonds have been made right before my very eyes.

A perfect example of this would be Loretta and Mitchell.  During their last session today, Loretta asked me to come in and take a photo of Mitchell receiving this custom-made “Mitchell – Awesome Reader!” award.  Loretta had this made for Mitch as a memento from their time together, and the smile on Mitch’s face when she presented him with this trophy was truly priceless. It was, without a doubt, the best memory I have so far while working at GiGi’s Playhouse. We are so excited to being our next math and literacy sessions on March 29th, and we invite each and every one of you to visit the Playhouse and see what our programs are all about!
