GiGi U and Prep are Making it Count!

These days in GiGi U and GiGi Prep, our students have been working very hard on their money skills.

They especially love when we play Money Uno to practice coin identification. Recently we have been working on adding up enough money to buy an item, or picking out what item to buy with the amount of money we have added together.

GiGi U students recently just finished their goal wheels, which are made up of career, nutrition, fitness, communication, and interest goals. After completing them, each student shared their goals with the class. This was a great way to plan ahead for the future and have something to work towards in and out of the classroom. GiGi Prep has also been working on setting goals, and we made a vision board with pictures and quotes as a way to visualize the goals they had been setting. Each student showed their vision board to the class and shared about the items they chose to include. This was a great way to work on communication and public speaking skills.

For cooking healthy lunches on Wednesdays, we have been making a wide variety of things! A few of the things we have made are pancakes with berries and yogurt, veggie chopped salad, tofu tacos, and grilled cheese with tomato soup. YUM!
