Volunteer Spotlight- Sharon Thompson

Volunteer Spotlight- Sharon Thompson
Volunteer Coordinator

I became involved in GiGi’s Playhouse Fox Valley to continue the mission to “educate. inspire. believe”. I have worked with children with Down syndrome after working as a pediatric physical therapist for over 25 years throughout Chicagoland and Naperville and teaching physical therapy students for eleven years in clinical labs at Midwestern University. My interest in this mission began in middle school volunteering with a Special Olympics program at Marquette Park in Chicago.
I’ve lived in Naperville for nineteen years with my husband, Bill, and two daughters, Lauren and Olivia, who are both students at Indiana University. I am also involved with The Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise and 100 Women Who Care Naperville. I’m looking forward to meeting the families and children who attend programs at GiGi’s Fox Valley and providing support to build on their achievements and help grow the GiGi’s community through volunteer coordination.
